Hemp + Wool Infinity Cowl

Fine hemp singles (meaning yarn with a single strand, yarn that is not plied) make up the warp of this scarf. Fine yarn means a lightweight textile.

Woven in a 2/1 twill (sometimes denim is woven in this structure!) which I learned about while researching fine woolen broadcloth. I recently learned that my ancestors were broadcloth weavers in England back at least as far as the mid 1700s. On my quest to learn more, I discovered a description of a precursor to broadcloth - a fine, high-quality, woolen fabric that was found in Finland with a 2/1 twill structure.

This 2/1 twill scarf has a delicate white on off-white coloring and is lightweight enough for early spring days. The hemp warp adds softness and stability to the wool weft.

Sewn into a long twisted loop, measuring approximately 11” wide and 68” long (all the way around). Can be twisted over your head once or twice!

Machine wash cool, dry low (don’t worry, it’s pre-shrunk!), warm iron if needed.
