The 14th annual “Come to Leicester” studio tour will be held from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday August 17th and Sunday August 18th. This free self guided tour features the artwork of members of the Leicester Studio Artists and invited guests, working from their studios located throughout the scenic Leicester countryside, North Carolina. Leicester is just outside of Asheville, N.C.  Artist will be in their studios around Leicester or located at the Leicester Community Center and Addison Farms Vineyard.  Deanna Lynch Textiles will be exhibiting at the Addison Farms Vineyard

Coinciding with American Craft Week, Connections will showcase our local Fibershed. Here in Western North Carolina we are fortunate to have many fiber farmers, dyers, felters, knitters, weavers, fiber artists, designers, seamstresses...we want to encourage awareness of their work. 

As a part of this month long exhibit we will be showcasing collaborative works between fiber/dye farmers and fiber artists. There will be demonstrations and lectures, community activities and the opportunity to purchase and take a bit of this work home with you. We hope you will join us for this event and learn more about the love that goes in to making a piece of cloth.

Located at HandMade in America in downtown Asheville, NC, this exhibit features the work of eight recent Haywood Community College Professional Crafts graduates. Showing work in fibers, wood, clay and metals, the title title of the show speaks to each artists' journey from student to professional.

An exhibit of contemporary fiber work inspired or reflective of the design ideals set forth by Anni Albers at Black Mountain College.

Local Cloth Inc. and Haywood Community College Creative Arts Program invites you to come and join the celebration of American Craft Week 2014 with this exhibit and the celebration of the Appalachian region’s tradition and continuing leadership in weaving and contemporary textile art education.

There will be an opening reception on October 9th from 4-7 pm in the Mary Cornwell Gallery on the 2nd floor.  The exhibit will run from October 9 through December 6.
